OVERVIEW

Housing is available at the Colby College campus dormitory or one of the festival housing facilities. Participants are welcome to bring their vehicles to explore the state of Maine, which is known for its beautiful surroundings, food, and attractions.

The residential facilities consist primarily of double-room accommodations. A finite number of single rooms are assigned to participants but are not guaranteed. Other facilities at Colby College include performance and rehearsal spaces, a computer lab with Internet access, TV lounges, laundry facilities, and a fitness center.

AMF cannot provide housing in the dormitory or elsewhere for anyone other than participants, including spouses or partners. Participants should make housing preparedness in advance on behalf of all friends or relatives should they choose to serve the festival. For a list of nearby accommodations, please click here.

MINOR HOUSING

Participants under the age of eighteen live in a separate dorm facility from the rest of the participants. Our staff members and RAs provide supervision and enforcement of campus rules, including the mandatory curfew.

FELLOWSHIP ATTENDANCE POLICY

All AMF Fellows must be in attendance for the duration of their engagement. AMF does not permit late arrivals, early departures, or absences. Fellows are required to be available for performance every day during the festival season.

Hailed as one of the most beautiful campuses in the nation, Colby College is this year's host to the Atlantic Music Festival. On this 714 acre campus, you'll find facilities such as the Miller Library, the Lorimer Chapel, Strider Theater, and Given Auditorium.

Other facilities at Colby College include performance and rehearsal spaces, a computer lab with Internet access, TV lounges, laundry facilities, and a world-class fitness center.

Fellows and students are not required to live at Colby College. However, those who elect to live off-campus (except for festival houses and cottages) are responsible for the entire cost of their accommodations.

Participants are welcome to bring their vehicles to explore the state of Maine, which is known for its beautiful surroundings, food, and attractions. Parking facilities are available around the festival venues, but please be mindful of Colby College's on-campus parking rules and regulations.

The festival will provide meals for participants through the Colby College cafeteria. A dining hall is open seven days a week and offers a variety of delicious foods with buffet menu selections from various world cuisine, soups, salad, dessert, and more. It accommodates vegetarian and other special diets, such as gluten-free food.

The Harold Alfond Athletic Center houses a gymnasium and a pool that will be available for use during the festival season. Other facilities include soccer and lacrosse fields across from Johnson Pond and one of the top collegiate track and field facilities in New England.

Festival Hosted Activities

Throughout the festival season, the Atlantic Music Festival hosts various recreational and sports events. Participants are encouraged to explore the beautiful state of Maine which is known for its breathtaking natural beauty. The city of Waterville is also home to many world-renowned venues and summer events such as the Colby Museum of Art and Maine International Film Festival.

Colby Museum of Art

The Colby College Museum of Art, founded in 1959, is comprised of five wings, nearly 8,000 works, and more than 38,000 square feet of exhibition space. It is a major cultural destination for the residents of Maine and visitors to the state. For more information, visit http://www.colby.edu/museum/

Maine International Film Festival

Founded in 1998, the Maine International Film Festival (MIFF) is a project of the Maine Film Center. The festival takes place for ten days annually during the AMF season. During the annual event, MIFF shows nearly 100 films, representing the best of American independent and international cinema.
