The AMF Institute is committed to providing financial assistance to talented students, in order to make our programs accessible to all. We offer a variety of financial aid options, including Fellowships, Teaching Assistantships, Resident Assistant positions, scholarships, and Student Aid, to support your pursuit of excellence in music.

Scholarships

  • To be considered for scholarships, applicants must first submit their online application. After submitting the online application, applicants will be provided with a link to the financial aid application.
  • Scholarships provide partial tuition support to help offset the cost of attendance.
  • These scholarships are awarded based on merit, financial need, and the needs of our programs.
  • Financial Aid Application requires information on current income, assets, and liabilities, as well as any supporting documentation.
  • It is encouraged to submit the Financial Aid Application and the required documents within two weeks of submitting the online application to ensure the fullest consideration for financial aid. However, Financial Aid Application and required documents may be submitted beyond the two-week mark, but please be aware that availability of financial aid may be limited as time goes by.
  • Any applicant may have the opportunity to appeal the decision made on their financial aid application if they have new or additional information to present.

Fellowships

  • The Fellowship program provides complete financial coverage for tuition, housing, and meals for the six-week residency.
  • Up to 40 fellowships are awarded each year to emerging artists who demonstrate exceptional musical talent and a strong commitment to their craft.
  • This is an excellent opportunity for instrumentalists to perform in concerts, collaborate with artist-faculty, and hone their skills in preparation for a successful career in music.
  • Please note that for Fellowship, applicant must be 18 or older and be in attendance for the duration of the festival season. AMF does not permit late arrivals, early departures, or absences. Fellows are required to be available for performance every day during the festival season.

Teaching Assistantships

  • The Teaching Assistantship program offers talented musicians the opportunity to work with accomplished artist-faculty and gain valuable teaching experience.
  • TAs assist with various aspects of the festival's educational program, including preparing materials, leading rehearsals, and providing individualized instruction to students.
  • TAs also have the opportunity to perform in concerts and collaborate with other festival participants.
  • The TA program supports the development of emerging artists by providing scholarships to those who demonstrate exceptional musical talent and a strong commitment to their craft.
  • To receive consideration for a TA position, applicants must submit a personal statement and a resume demonstrating significant teaching experience via our online application.
  • Please note that for Teaching Assistantship, applicants must be 21 or older and be in attendance for the duration of the festival season. AMF does not permit late arrivals, early departures, or absences.

Resident Assistant

  • Resident Assistant positions play an essential role in fostering a positive and inclusive community at the festival.
  • RAs promote safety and wellness, provide support, and assist with logistical tasks.
  • This is a unique opportunity for emerging artists to gain leadership experience, build transferable skills, and make a positive impact on the festival community while also showcasing their musical abilities and collaborating with artist-faculty.
  • To receive consideration, one must submit a personal statement and a resume demonstrating relevant experience via our online application.
  • Please note that for Resident Assistant, candidates must be 21 or older and be available for the full duration of the festival season and will be asked to arrive up to two days early to receive training. AMF does not permit late arrivals, early departures, or absences.

Please note that all financial aid options are awarded based on the needs of the AMF Institute and the makeup of the current year. While we make every effort to provide financial assistance to as many deserving students as possible, we cannot guarantee that all applicants will receive an award.
