Housing options are available at Colby College campus dormitories or designated festival accommodations. Participants are welcome to bring their vehicles to explore Maine's acclaimed natural landscapes, culinary offerings, and cultural attractions.

Accommodations primarily consist of double rooms, with a limited number of single rooms available on a first-come, first-served basis. The campus features amenities such as performance and rehearsal spaces, a computer lab with internet access, TV lounges, laundry services, and a fitness center.

AMF is unable to provide housing for non-participants, including spouses or partners. Participants are advised to arrange off-campus accommodations for any visitors in advance. For a list of nearby lodging options, please click here.

MINOR HOUSING

Participants under the age of eighteen are housed in a separate dormitory, supervised by our staff and resident assistants who enforce campus rules and a mandatory curfew.

FELLOWSHIP ATTENDANCE POLICY

All AMF Fellows must commit to full attendance for the duration of the residency. Late arrivals, early departures, or any absences are not permitted. Fellows are expected to be available for all performance commitments throughout their residency.

CAMPUS

Hailed as one of the most beautiful campuses in the nation, Colby College is this year's host to the Atlantic Music Festival. The 714-acre campus includes facilities like the Miller Library, the Lorimer Chapel, Strider Theater, and Given Auditorium, as well as performance and rehearsal spaces, a computer lab with Internet access, TV lounges, laundry facilities, and a world-class fitness center.

Fellows and students are not required to live at Colby College but will be responsible for their accommodation costs if choosing to live off-campus. Vehicles are permitted for those wishing to explore the beautiful state of Maine, with parking facilities available around the festival venues. Please observe all on-campus parking rules and regulations.

FOOD

The festival provides meals through the Colby College cafeteria, which is open daily. The dining hall serves a variety of foods including buffet menu selections, world cuisines, soups, salads, desserts, and caters to vegetarian and gluten-free diets.

FITNESS

The Harold Alfond Athletics and Recreation Center at Colby College is the latest addition to the campus, enhancing the athletic and recreational facilities available to festival participants and students alike.

Facilities Include:

  • Aquatics Center: Featuring an Olympic-sized pool for swimming and aquatic activities.
  • Ice Arena: Available for ice sports and activities throughout the year.
  • Margaret M. Crook Center: Houses basketball and volleyball courts for both competitive and casual play.
  • Fitness Center: Spread over three levels, it includes a variety of exercise equipment, fitness studios, and rooms for mindfulness and meditation.
  • Indoor Competition Center: Accommodating a track, tennis courts, and space for various field events.
  • Squash Center: Offers nine courts for squash enthusiasts.
  • Climbing Wall: A 42-foot structure catering to different levels of climbing proficiency.
  • Athletic Trainer’s Suite: Fully equipped for sports medicine needs with hydrotherapy and treatment rooms.

The Harold Alfond Athletics and Recreation Center is accessible to those staying on campus, providing a broad range of options for maintaining fitness and wellbeing during the festival.

RECREATION

Festival Hosted Activities

The festival hosts a range of recreational and sports events. Participants are encouraged to explore Maine's natural beauty and the cultural offerings of Waterville, including the Colby Museum of Art and the Maine International Film Festival.

TRANSPORTATION

Cars & Parking

Participants with vehicles can explore Maine’s attractions and are provided parking around festival venues. Compliance with Colby College’s parking rules and regulations is required.

All participants live on a beautiful, secure, and wifi-connected campus, which houses dorms, state-of-the-art facilities, libraries, and scenic hiking trails. Enjoy all three meals at one of our all-inclusive dining halls, walk through the Museum of Art's 10,000 art collections, or take a plunge at a 25-yard by 25-meter swimming pool at the Athletic Center.
